The Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary is located in Sabah, Malaysia, and is privately owned. It sits amid dense oil palm plantations, attracting visitors who come to see these rare little creatures. Covering an area of 600 acres, the sanctuary is home to 300 wild monkeys that live and grow freely in this peaceful environment. In recent years, the proboscis monkey has become a major attraction for tourists. When they get excited, their large noses stand upright or sway up and down, creating a comical sight that often leaves visitors in fits of laughter. Besides proboscis monkeys, visitors to the sanctuary can also spot wild boars, flying squirrels, fireflies, crocodiles, and other animals.
