Mount Kinabalu, also translated as Mount Kina Balu or Mount Kinabalu, is referred to by locals as the "Sacred Mountain." It is the fourth highest peak in the Malay Archipelago, with its highest point, Low's Peak, reaching an elevation of 4,095.2 meters. The mountain is growing at a rate of 0.5 centimeters per year and is renowned for its spectacular scenery and diverse flora and fauna.

The biodiversity of flora and fauna on Mount Kinabalu is extremely rich. From lowland rainforests to temperate oak forests, and even alpine conifers, all can be found here, making it a famous tourist destination in Malaysia and an excellent area for flora and fauna research. Climbing the Sacred Mountain has become a trend and a healthy lifestyle. Ascending from the mountain’s base to the summit and back down takes about 2 to 3 days, depending on the weather and the climber’s physical condition. To accommodate visitors, several rest stations have been set up along the climbing route. Around 200 climbers visit daily, with approximately 60,000 climbers from around the world coming here to climb the mountain each year.

Mount Kinabalu is not only a favorite destination for hiking enthusiasts but also attracts many nature lovers. Their primary goals are bird watching, butterfly observation, and studying the area’s unique flora and fauna — including rare carnivorous plants, wild orchids, and the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia, whose blooms can reach a diagonal length of 45 centimeters, leaving visitors in awe.
