Yimin Art Museum is located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and is a private museum established in 1996 to commemorate the late Kim Sang-man, former president of the Dong-A Ilbo newspaper. It is well known for showcasing Korean culture. The museum’s modern art collection mainly features socially conscious works, making it a worthwhile destination for those who appreciate unique and distinctly Korean-style handicrafts.

Yimin Art Museum has two large exhibition halls: the first and second floors host special exhibitions, while the third floor displays over 430 items collected by Kim Sang-man during his lifetime, more than 1,200 items entrusted by the Dong-A Ilbo, and over 100 pieces of modern art. The items collected by Kim Sang-man include Korean ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, and more from the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties, while the items entrusted by Dong-A Ilbo serve as important materials that capture the state of public opinion during a particular period. The museum’s fourth floor houses documentary films and video art, featuring approximately 200 documentaries and over 50 video art pieces, where visitors can enjoy high-quality documentaries.

At the art shop exhibition on the first floor, visitors can also admire lifestyle crafts made by artisans and purchase major domestic and international art magazines and illustrated cards. There is also a well-known café called iMA on the first floor, where visitors can enjoy delicious American brunch and waffles.
