Museum of Rice Cakes and Kitchen Utensils
Rice cakes are a traditional Korean food made from grains. The Museum of Rice Cakes and Kitchen Utensils is a specialized museum that collects and introduces the craft of making rice cakes and kitchen utensils. The first floor of the museum houses a traditional teahouse, the second floor is the Kitchen Utensils Museum, and the third floor is the Rice Cake Museum. There are also various hands-on experiences specially prepared for foreign visitors—lively and fun, they are warmly welcomed by tourists.
The second floor of the Rice Cake Museum can be described as a comprehensive collection of traditional Korean kitchen utensils. From the entrance to the exit, it displays dining tables and ancient Korean kitchen tools collected by Ms. Yoon Sookja in chronological order, allowing visitors to learn in detail about the evolution of Korean kitchens. The Rice Cake Museum on the third floor is divided into Hall 1 and Hall 2. In Hall 1, visitors can see rice cakes made during traditional Korean holidays and the tools and methods used to make them. In Hall 2, visitors can see the foods and rice cakes used during important traditional events in Korea. Since different foods are used for each event, visitors can understand the meaning behind each dish.
