Kōzan-ji Temple
Introduction Kōzan-ji Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, founded in 774. The Shisui-in hall within the temple is a precious relic of the shinden-zukuri architectural style from the early Kamakura period. It houses treasures such as the four scrolls of Choju-jinbutsu-giga (National Treasure), making it a cultural treasure trove of western Kyoto. It is also a renowned spot for viewing autumn foliage. The temple possesses over 10,000 artifacts, including 7 National Treasures and more than 1,500 Important Cultural Properties. While the originals are not on public display, replicas are exhibited. The temple also features Japan’s oldest tea garden and holds an annual tea-offering ceremony in autumn. Transportation
