Introduction

Within Osaka Castle Park stands Osaka Castle, a renowned fortress built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and a symbol of Osaka. The park boasts blooming flowers in all seasons and year-round greenery, featuring areas such as Honmaru, Ninomaru, and Yamazato-maru. Its deep double moat and towering stone walls have been preserved to this day, along with several important structures such as Otemon Gate and Tamon Yagura. After undergoing major renovations in March 1997, the golden decorations atop the green roof shine alongside the white walls, restoring its magnificent appearance. The castle houses around eight thousand artifacts and historical materials, including a Lotus Sutra fan painting, which is a national treasure of Japan.
