Introduction

As Osaka’s largest shopping district, Shinsaibashi is home to numerous boutiques and specialty stores. The cobblestone pedestrian walkways, British-style street lamps, and rows of brick buildings along Suoumachi Street give the area an upscale, European-village charm.

The western part of Shinsaibashi is called Amerikamura (American Village), featuring a wall painted with bold, eclectic patterns. Amerikamura is packed with shops catering to trendy youth, offering a variety of unconventional fashion and other goods. Shinsaibashi also boasts numerous restaurants where you can sample cuisines from around the world.
