Most businesspeople in Osaka know about Imamiya Ebisu Shrine. Established in 600 AD by Prince Shotoku, this shrine attracts millions of visitors each year who come to pray to Ebisu (the god of wealth and prosperity) for success in business. During the Tenjin Ebisu Festival, people buy sacred bamboo branches decorated with lucky charms and pray for smooth business operations. Many choose to visit between January 9 and 11, especially on the main day of the festival (held on January 10), when the atmosphere is especially lively.
