Taiping Fort Ruins

The Taiping Fort Ruins are a cultural heritage protection site of Yanggao County.

The Taiping Fort Ruins date back to the Han Dynasty and the Liao-Jin period, and are located in Taiping Fort Village, Luowenzao Town, Yanggao County.

On December 25, 2018, the Taiping Fort Ruins were designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection site of Yanggao County.

Protected area: 100 meters outward from the boundary of the heritage site in all directions.

Luowenzao Town: Luowenzao Town is located 15 kilometers east of Yanggao County. It borders Xinghe County of Inner Mongolia to the north and neighbors Tianzhen County to the east. The town administers 19 administrative villages and 4 natural villages, covering a total area of 175.1 square kilometers with cultivated land spanning 70,695 mu (including 32,170 mu of irrigated land). It currently has a population of 9,051 households and 30,619 residents (including 1,050 non-agricultural residents), making it the second-largest town in the county. The area features a mix of mountains, slopes, and flatlands, and is home to hot springs, temples, gravity hills, and stretches of the Ming Great Wall.
