Zhouguantun Fort Site

The Zhouguantun Fort Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Yanggao County.

The Zhouguantun Fort Site dates back to the Ming Dynasty and is located 300 meters north of Zhouguantun Village, Dabaideng Town, Yanggao County.

On December 25, 2018, the Zhouguantun Fort Site was designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit of Yanggao County.

Protected area: bordered by the fort’s walls, extending 10 meters outward in all directions. Construction control zone: bordered by the protected area, extending 50 meters outward in all directions.

Dabaideng Town: Dabaideng Town is an important town in Yanggao County, covering a total area of 110 square kilometers. It administers 29 administrative villages, one natural village, and has a population of 19,930 across 5,521 households. The town center, Dabaideng Village, is 10 kilometers from the county seat and boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage. During the Liao Dynasty, it was part of Changqing County. In the seventh year of the Dading era of the Jin Dynasty (1167), Changqing was renamed Baideng County. The county was abolished and replaced with a town in the early Ming Dynasty. Baideng has nearly a thousand years of history as a county seat and is known for the saying “Baideng came before Yanggao City.”
