The Zhao Shizhuang Theater is a cultural heritage protection unit of Yanggao County.

The Zhao Shizhuang Theater was built in 1962 and is located in Zhao Shizhuang Village, Gucheng Town, Yanggao County.

On December 25, 2018, the Zhao Shizhuang Theater was designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit of Yanggao County.

Protected area: an extension of 10 meters outward from the boundary of the heritage site itself. Construction control zone: an extension of 50 meters outward from the boundary of the protected area on all sides.

Gucheng Town: Gucheng Town is situated on the southern side of the central hilly region, 30 kilometers from the county seat. It covers an area of 65.6 square kilometers and features a loess hilly terrain, with hills accounting for 94% of the area. It is the region with the lowest annual rainfall in the county, averaging around 360 mm per year. Coupled with long hours of sunshine, high evaporation rates, compacted soil, poor water permeability, strong winds, and severe soil erosion, the area suffers from drought in nine out of ten years, with many years seeing no substantial rainfall from planting to harvest. Crops struggle to survive like malnourished infants, resulting in consistently low grain yields—before 1965, the yield per mu was only around 30 kilograms.
