The Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial House is located next to the Grand Hotel at 1 Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues in Macau. It is a building with Islamic architectural features. In 1918, Dr. Sun Yat-sen funded the construction of this residence as a home for his family. By 1932, his son, Chak Sham, took care of his mother, Madam Soong Ching-ling, here. After her passing, the former residence was renamed the “Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial House” in 1958.

The Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial House was completed in 1972 and features traditional Chinese palace-style architecture—majestic and grand without excessive ornamentation. The building stands 30.4 metres tall, with each side measuring 100 metres in length. Its interior includes an auditorium, the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library, the Sun Yat-sen Gallery, four exhibition rooms, a study room, lecture rooms, and a united service centre. It is an important venue on the island for artistic and cultural events, as well as large-scale lectures and exhibitions.
