The Chapel of St. Michael is located within the "St. Michael's Cemetery," which was built in 1854 as Macau's first Western-style cemetery. The chapel itself was constructed in 1875 and renovated in 1898, making it one of the best-preserved historic buildings in Macau today.

The Chapel of St. Michael is built in the Gothic style, featuring pointed arches and crenellated decorations, with arched side corridors supported by buttresses. The exterior walls of the chapel are primarily painted in a pale green color accented with white trim—a unique color scheme among Macau’s churches that gives this chapel an especially serene appearance.

Stepping inside the chapel, you’ll find the altar dedicated to the Archangel Michael, with stained glass windows depicting stories of Jesus Christ. The single-story chapel has a mezzanine at the entrance, accessible via wooden staircases on either side, leading up to the choir loft. Behind the choir loft, there is a small loft housing a dark green hanging bell. Notably, this chapel is air-conditioned—an amenity that, at present, is rare and only available in this particular church in Macau.
