Aldrich Bay Park

Aldrich Bay Park (English: Aldrich Bay Park) is a park in Hong Kong themed around an old-style fishing village. It is located by the waterfront of Aldrich Bay, Sai Wan Ho, on Hong Kong Island, at the junction of Oi Kan Road and Oi Tak Street. Covering an area of approximately 22,000 square meters, it is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Aldrich Bay Park was officially opened on April 11, 2011. From planning to completion, it took over 10 years and cost more than HK$130 million. The park is designed around the theme of a traditional fishing harbor, using steel, glass, wood, and bamboo as construction materials. In the park’s water feature area, there is a full-size fishing boat and two sampans, along with two wooden-plank boardwalks acting as a “pier” that allows visitors to board the fishing boat for a closer look. Next to the pier is a replica fishing shed.

It is said that the fishing boat was originally placed in a park in Tuen Mun but was relocated to Aldrich Bay Park after being damaged by vandals. In addition, the park also features a Tai Chi plaza, a fragrance garden, an open-air plaza, fitness facilities for the elderly, a children’s playground, a jogging track, and a fitness trail.
