Chai Wan Park

Chai Wan Park (English: Chai Wan Park) is a large central park in Hong Kong, located in Chai Wan on Hong Kong Island, covering an area of 7.13 hectares (approximately 9.5 standard football fields). It was opened on April 21, 1993, and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

The predecessor of Chai Wan Park was a Hong Kong Scout camp built in 1925. In the 1980s, the Hong Kong government levelled the small hill (Scout Hill) within the camp and carried out land reclamation works to build Chai Wan Park. The park features facilities such as a hard court mini-football pitch, basketball courts, tennis courts, an open-air amphitheatre, a children's playground, a model boat pond, an artificial waterfall, a fountain, a lotus pond, a terraced garden, Shan Tsai Park, and a snack kiosk. The park has also been noted by local residents for having too many rubbish bins.
