Introduction

Hong Kong’s Sha Tin Racecourse – Penfold Park is located at the Fo Tan MTR Station. Its state-of-the-art horse racing track facilities are among the most advanced in the world, making it the second-largest racecourse in Hong Kong. The venue can accommodate over 85,000 spectators, and its massive race results board is computer-controlled, displaying comprehensive details and outcomes of each race.

Once the horse racing season begins (from September to June of the following year), races are held weekly at both Sha Tin and Happy Valley, typically on Saturday or Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. Visitors can purchase tickets directly or join a horse racing tour organized by the Travel Industry Council. For those less interested in horse racing, Penfold Park within the venue is worth a visit. It is one of Hong Kong’s largest parks, covering 8 hectares, situated in the center of the racecourse’s track loop. The park features bird habitats and beautiful landscaped gardens, attracting many visitors on weekends. It is open daily except Mondays and race days.
