Li Lin Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

Li Lin Martyrs' Cemetery, formerly known as Pingshuo County Martyrs' Cemetery, is located in Jingping Town, Pingshuo District. In 1987, it was officially approved by the Shanxi Provincial Government as a "Provincial Key Martyrs' Memorial Building Protection Unit." From 1995 to 2004, it was successively named a "Patriotic Education Base" by the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, the Shanxi Provincial People's Government, the CPC Shuozhou Municipal Committee, and the Shuozhou Municipal People’s Government. It has also been designated as a "Provincial Youth Traditional Education Base," a "Moral Education Base," and a "National Defense Education Base" by the Shanxi Provincial Youth League Committee, the Shanxi Provincial Education Commission, and the Shanxi Provincial National Defense Mobilization Committee. On April 26, 2002, it was awarded the plaque of "Patriotic Education Base" by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. In 2006, 2008, and 2010, it was named a "Shanxi Civilized and Harmonious Scenic Area" by the Shanxi Provincial Spiritual Civilization Construction Guidance Committee. In March 2009, it was approved by the State Council as a "National Key Martyrs' Memorial Building Protection Unit."

Located in the Loess Plateau of northwestern Shanxi, Pingshuo District borders Inner Mongolia to the north via the Great Wall, connects to Youyu in the east, and links to Pianguan in the west. Historically, it has been a strategic military location. With steep mountains, perilous roads, and crisscrossing ravines, the area served as one of the revolutionary base areas during the War of Resistance Against Japan, boasting a glorious revolutionary history. The blood of revolutionary martyrs was shed across this heroic land. The renowned anti-Japanese national heroine and returned overseas Chinese, Li Lin, sacrificed her life here. To inspire future generations to serve the motherland and build their homeland, Pingshuo County began constructing Pingshuo County Martyrs' Cemetery in 1964 in Jingping Town, the county seat. In 1980, the sculpture of Li Lin was unveiled, and in 1992, the Li Lin Martyrs' Memorial Hall was expanded. In 2000, upon the initiative of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, it was renamed Li Lin Martyrs' Cemetery. In 2002, a new bronze equestrian statue of Li Lin was erected. In June 2010, with approval from the State Council, Li Lin Martyrs' Cemetery was relocated to Nanshan Park on Pingwan Road, Jingping Town, covering an area of 100 mu with a total investment of 24 million yuan.

The office area of Li Lin Martyrs' Cemetery, the Li Lin Martyrs' Deeds Exhibition Room, and the Pingshuo Revolutionary Struggle History Memorial Hall are located on the eastern side of the cemetery. Spanning a construction area of 5,200 square meters, the classical-style buildings are majestic and imposing. The interiors display over 30,000 words of historical documents, more than 300 photographs, and inscriptions by national leaders such as Bo Yibo, Kang Keqing, and Zhang Guoji, as well as many precious artifacts including Li Lin’s manuscripts and photos. High-tech methods such as audiovisual displays, electronic book-flipping, curved-screen projections, holographic imaging, electronic sand tables, scene reconstructions, scene effects, and multimedia touch screens are used to showcase Li Lin’s illustrious deeds and the revolutionary struggle history of Pingshuo.

The memorial square, tomb area square, and parking lot of Li Lin Martyrs' Cemetery cover a construction area of 20,000 square meters and include corresponding greening. A bronze statue of Li Lin Martyr stands in the square, 4 meters tall with a 2-meter base, vividly and lifelike, recreating her valiant image of riding fearlessly on the battlefield and facing powerful enemies without fear.

The Revolutionary Martyrs’ Monument stands tall in the center of the cemetery, reaching a height of 19.40 meters with a square rooftop, symbolizing the year of Li Lin’s sacrifice—1940. The front is inscribed with eight bold characters: “Died for the Country, Immortal Forever.” Bathed in sunlight, the inscription appears powerful and shining brightly.

Behind the Li Lin Monument are 60 steps, flanked by 5x58-meter soil-retaining walls clad in white marble. The western side depicts major events of the Anti-Japanese War in Pingshuo, while the eastern side features sculptures of some anti-Japanese heroes and their deeds.

The tomb area is located on the northern side of the cemetery and houses the tomb of Li Lin along with 64 other martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Pingshuo. A memorial monument for Li Lin, as well as monuments for the Baixin Village and Zhangyagou Massacre and individual martyrs, are also erected here. The surroundings are shaded by lush trees, creating a beautiful environment.

On the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Li Lin was honored as one of the national “Top 100 Heroes and Model Figures.” On April 26, 2010, the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the All-China Women’s Federation successfully held a commemorative meeting for the 70th anniversary of Li Lin’s sacrifice at the former site of Li Lin Martyrs' Cemetery. The spirit of Li Lin shines through the ages and will be passed on to future generations.
