Pinglu City is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shuozhou City.

Pinglu City is located in Fenghuangcheng Village, Fenghuangcheng Town, Pinglu District, and dates back to the 17th year of the Chenghua era during the Ming Dynasty.

On March 21, 2011, Pinglu City was announced as one of the first municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Shuozhou City.

Fenghuangcheng Town: Fenghuangcheng Town is situated in the northern part of Shuozhou City, bordered by Gaoshizhuang Township to the north, Zuhu Township and Shuangnian Township to the west, Xishuijie Township to the south, and adjacent to Youyu County to the east. It is located 70 kilometers from downtown Shuozhou and 40 kilometers from Jingping Town, the seat of the Pinglu District government. Positioned at the border between two provincial-level regions (Shanxi Province and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region), the ancient town of Fenghuangcheng has a history of 527 years. The town enjoys a highly advantageous geographical location. It covers a total area of 184 square kilometers, administers 22 village committees, has 3,050 households, a population of 10,813, and cultivated land spanning 54,657.8 mu.
