The Tarim River is a cultural tourism attraction.

Guide   The Tarim River is formed by the convergence of the Aksu River originating from the Tianshan Mountains, the Yarkand River from the Karakoram Mountains, and the Hotan River. It has a drainage area of 198,000 square kilometers and ultimately flows into Lake Taitema. Highlights   Known as the “wild horse without reins,” the Tarim River stretches 2,179 kilometers in length, making it China’s longest inland river. Introduction   The water flow of the Tarim River varies greatly with the seasons. During the scorching summer months, when snow and glaciers melt, the river’s flow surges dramatically, roaring through the ancient deserts and grasslands like a “boundless wild horse.” A large bridge spanning the Tarim River features 80 spans, is made of concrete, and extends over 1,600 meters in total length. Numerous water conservancy facilities have been constructed within the Tarim River basin. The riverbanks are lined with fruit orchards and fragrant rice paddies. The Tarim River is located 120 kilometers from Aksu City and passes through the Ninth Agricultural Reclamation Regiment and the Alar Tarim Agricultural Reclamation University.
