Aksu Duolang River National Wetland Park
Aksu Duolang River National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.
Aksu Duolang River National Wetland Park is the largest national wetland park in southern Xinjiang. Currently, the park has abundant water resources, good water quality, and ample light and heat, forming a typical freshwater wetland in the arid region of northwest China. The ecological protection zone of the wetland park is home to over 10 species of Class II nationally protected plants, including tamarisk, licorice, and saxaul, as well as seven species of Class I nationally protected animals such as golden eagles, black storks, and Xinjiang bighead carp, and more than 20 species of Class II nationally protected animals such as Tarim hares, egrets, and herons. In addition, there are over 70 species of animals under key protection at the autonomous region level.
According to monitoring and statistics, approximately 100,000 migratory birds and waterfowl inhabit, overwinter, and breed in the wetland park each year. The wildlife population in the park has been increasing year by year, wildlife resources are effectively protected, and the ecological environment has significantly improved, making it a remarkable example of harmonious coexistence between humans and birds. The enhanced ecological functions of the wetland play an important role in the ecological civilization construction and sustainable development of Aksu City.
Currently, the construction of lakes, bridges, sculptures, and pathways within Aksu Duolang River National Wetland Park has been completed. The only remaining tasks before next spring are planting additional trees and flowers and carrying out some fine-tuning. By next spring, when the grass grows and birds sing, visitors will be able to enjoy the charm of the wetland park nestled among lush greenery and blooming flowers.
