The ancient Weiyuan Fort City was originally the Zhongling County during the Han Dynasty, with numerous Han-era tombs distributed around it. The Weiyuan Han Tombs include those in Shuerzhao, Nanbali, and Jinshiwan.

On Wuhou Mountain in the northeast corner of Shuerzhao Village, there are over 40 tomb mounds, each about 2 to 9 meters high, with circumferences of 50 to 70 meters, and the tallest reaching approximately 10 meters. Around Jinshiwan Village and Weiyuan Town, there are more than 30 such mounds, where Han Dynasty artifacts such as bronze coins, belt hooks, and pottery have been discovered. On the slopes southwest of Nanbali Village, there are about 10 surviving tomb mounds. In 1973, three of them were excavated, yielding over 200 relics, all of which were Han Dynasty objects.
