Yangbulake Glacier Ski Resort
The Yangbulake Glacier on the Pamir Plateau in Aketao County is the highest-altitude all-natural, four-season ski resort in the world today.
The Yangbulake Glacier is a modern glacier situated beside the Muztagh Ata mountain range in Bulunkou Township, Aketao County. It is also the base camp for climbing Mount Muztagh Ata. The glacier spans elevations between 6000 and 4000 meters, stretching approximately 12 kilometers in length and about 2 kilometers in width, with slopes ranging from 50 to 70 degrees. The glacier surface is flat and smooth, with snow and ice remaining year-round. It is a completely natural, all-season ski resort untouched by any artificial modifications. In 1992, athletes from Kyrgyzstan and other countries held skiing competitions here.
