Youyu Dananshan

Dananshan, also known as Helan Mountain, is locally referred to as Dananshan. It is located northwest of the county town, about 6 kilometers from the city center. The mountain features towering and spectacular ridges, with its highest peak reaching an elevation of 1,592 meters. Various tree species on the slopes create a vibrant mosaic of colors, and when you look out across the landscape, rolling waves of green stretch as far as the eye can see. At the summit lie ancient tombs and Ming Dynasty steles that tell visitors a long-buried mystery. The steles document the historical fact that Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty traveled to Pingcheng to pay homage to his ancestors. According to historical records, the tomb of the Wei capital is believed to be located within the territory of Youyu County.
