In 1995, the state invested over 40 million yuan to build the Yarkand River Maigaiti Bridge, stretching one kilometer across the ancient ferry site in Maigaiti. As the longest bridge in southern Xinjiang and the second longest in Xinjiang, this bridge features ornate railings and soars majestically over the river. Like a dragon drinking from the ravine or a rainbow lying across the waves, it captured the attention of both domestic and international tourists, becoming the top tourist and sightseeing attraction in the Kashgar region.

Now in its 17th year, the Maigaiti Bridge over the Yarkand River may no longer be the “biggest” bridge on the river, but its once grand and magnificent presence remains. It continues to play a significant role in the economic development of Maigaiti County.
