Youyu Mosque

The Youyu Mosque is a cultural heritage site protected by Shuozhou City.

The Youyu Mosque is located on the north side of Guanting Street within the ancient city of Youyu, at the jurisdiction of One Street Neighborhood Committee, Youwei Town, Youyu County, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

On March 21, 2011, the Youyu Mosque was designated as one of the first municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Shuozhou City.

Youwei Town: Youwei Town is situated in the northwest of Youyu County, about 25 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Helinge’er County of Inner Mongolia to the north. It was once the seat of the Shuoping Prefecture government and the location of the People's Government of Youyu County, and is now one of the four major established towns in Youyu County, serving as the northern gateway of Shanxi Province. The town administers 37 administrative villages and 50 natural villages, with a total population of 13,763, including 11,570 agricultural residents. The total land area of the town is 376,800 mu, of which 75,300 mu are arable land, and the forest coverage rate is 37%.
