Located 20 kilometers east of the county town, Huanghuaping is a rare subalpine meadow on the Loess Plateau, covering an area of about 15,000 mu, with a meadow thickness of 30–50 centimeters. The meadow is home to various stringy grasses bearing yellow flowers and coexisting medicinal herbs. Visiting the vast meadow of Huanghuaping during the fourth and fifth lunar months, you’ll be greeted by a spectacular sea of daylilies blanketing the hillsides. The surrounding mid-slopes of Huanghuaping are covered with large tracts of primeval forest, making it a place of outstanding natural beauty.
