Li Jing’s Courtyard

Li Jing’s Courtyard is situated in Dongshan Village, Dongshan Township, Fanshi County. Li Jing, whose birth and death dates are unknown, was a scholar during the Qing Dynasty and a well-known literary figure in Fanshi County at the time. The courtyard faces south and spans 21.7 meters in length from north to south and 12.7 meters in width from east to west, covering an area of 275.6 square meters. Although its exact construction date is unknown, the surviving structure exhibits Qing Dynasty architectural features. The layout consists of a single courtyard, with a central axis that includes a south wing room and a main house, flanked by side rooms on the east and west. The entrance gate is located in the southwest corner. The main house features three bays in width, three rafters in depth, and a four-beam framework without a porch, topped with a single-eave flush gable roof. Inside, the wooden partition panels display calligraphy and paintings personally created by Gong Guitan, a notable figure from Fanshi County.
