Lanruo Temple

Lanruo Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinzhou City.

Lanruo Temple is located 3 kilometers south of Dasongyu Village, Jiyizhuang Township, Fanshi County. It faces south. The temple is 23.8 meters long from east to west and 21 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 500 square meters. Its date of establishment is unknown. According to inscriptions on the beams of the main hall and records on steles, it was renovated in the 15th year of the Kangxi reign (1676) and the 21st year of the Jiaqing reign (1816) during the Qing Dynasty, and the existing structure dates back to the Qing Dynasty. The temple follows a single-courtyard layout, but only the main hall remains today. The main hall sits on a stone base that is 0.3 meters high. It has a three-bay-wide facade and a depth of four rafters, featuring a five-purlin, corridor-less structural system and a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. The bracket sets are simple, and the colored paintings on the beams and architraves have largely faded. There are stone steps leading up to the front of the hall, and two wooden plaques from the Qing Dynasty remain. On June 6, 2007, it was designated as part of the first batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Xinzhou City.
