Xiayongxing Site

The Xiayongxing Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Fanshi County.

The Xiayongxing Site is located on the first-level terrace of the northern bank of the Hutuo River, 20 meters north of Xiayongxing Village, Jiyizhuang Township, Fanshi County. The terrain of the site slopes gently from north to south. It stretches 400 meters from north to south and 250 meters from east to west, covering an area of 100,000 square meters. Cultural layers and ash pits are exposed on the cliff face, with the cultural layer being 0.5 to 1 meter thick; the ash pits have an opening width of 1.2 meters, a depth of 0.6 meters, and a circular base. Artifacts collected include gray pottery shards with sand tempering and clay body cord markings, with identifiable vessel shapes such as li tripods from the Longshan Culture period of the Neolithic Age. Based on the collected items, it is determined to be a site from both the Longshan Culture period of the Neolithic Age and the Warring States Period. On April 15, 1985, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site by the People's Government of Fanshi County.
