Wacidi Site

The Wacidi Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Fanshi County.

The Wacidi Site is located on a terrace on the north bank of the Hutuo River, 50 meters east of Wacidi Village, Xiaruyue Township, Fanshi County. The terrain at the site slopes gently from north to south. It stretches 200 meters from east to west and 200 meters from north to south, covering an area of 40,000 square meters. Exposed on the cliff face are ash pits, which are 1.2 meters wide at the mouth, 0.8 meters deep, and have a rounded bottom. Artifacts collected include gray pottery shards with sand inclusions and corded patterns, as well as plain-surfaced gray pottery shards. Distinguishable artifacts include li tripods from the Longshan Culture period of the Neolithic Age and dou vessels from the Warring States Period. Based on the collected items, it is determined to be a site dating back to both the Longshan Culture period of the Neolithic Age and the Warring States Period. On April 15, 1985, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection site by the People's Government of Fanshi County.
