Daiyue Temple

Daiyue Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located on the southwestern ridge of Daiyue Temple Village, about five kilometers east of Hequ County. It faces south, stretching 65 meters from north to south and 50 meters from east to west, covering an area of 3,250 square meters. The central axis features four tiers of structures. There are currently 15 existing buildings, including the mountain gate, passageway hall, Tianqi Hall (main hall), Lay Buddhists’ Hall, Dragon King Hall, Spirit Palace Hall, Kṣitigarbha Hall, Virgin Mary Hall, East Side Gate, meditation room, Guan Yu Temple, – Temple, Bao Gong Shrine, Sun and Moon Palace, and Jade Emperor Pavilion. Except for the Sun and Moon Palace, which is a brick cave, all others are wooden structures. According to inscriptions, the temple was first built no later than the 12th year of the Tianhui era (1133 AD) and has been repaired in subsequent dynasties. The main structures are well preserved, most dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The murals in the various halls are richly categorized and vibrantly colored, possessing high artistic value.
