Qianhao Village in Xinfu District, Xinzhou City, lies 15 kilometers northeast of downtown Xinzhou. It is adjacent to the Beitongpu Railway and Xinhé Railway to the east, borders the Dayun Highway, National Highway 108, and Tuanjie Road to the west, and links north to the Xintai Highway that leads to the sacred Buddhist site of Mount Wutai. A 20-minute drive takes you to the Dundian Hot Spring Resort for a relaxing soak in natural thermal baths and a swim. From here, you can also travel west to the Luya Mountain Nature Reserve, head south for 70 kilometers to reach the provincial capital of Taiyuan, or drive one hour to Taiyuan Airport. The area enjoys fertile soil, abundant water resources, and highly accessible transportation. After decades of development—especially since the establishment of an ecological demonstration zone in 1998—this once little-known village has grown into a technology park renowned both within and beyond the province. It is transforming into a prosperous and civilized small town characterized by factory-style farming, urban-style housing, forested farmland networks, mechanized cultivation, and modern living. The area boasts rich cultural heritage and is nationally known as the hometown of wrestling. Here, wrestling is a way of life—children learn to wrestle almost as soon as they can walk, and people of all ages and genders take part in the sport. During agricultural off-seasons, events such as “Goat-Carrying Wrestling Competitions” and “Women’s Wrestling Matches” are held regularly. Every year from the 20th day of the first lunar month to the second day of the second lunar month, our village hosts a “Fireworks Festival,” which attracts visitors from neighboring counties and even the provincial capital, drawing audiences of over two million.

Performances by yangge dance troupes, stilt walking (“gaqiao”), fan dancing, and aerobics not only promote physical health but also enrich the cultural and tourism appeal of the region, enhancing its cultural tourism functions.
