Main Hall of Yatai Temple on Taihe Cliff

The Main Hall of Yatai Temple on Taihe Cliff is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Main Hall of Yatai Temple on Taihe Cliff is located in Taihe Village, Zhuangmo Town, Xinfu District. It faces south with a north orientation, measuring 12 meters east-west and 8 meters north-south. The year of its original construction is unknown. The existing main hall was renovated in the fifth year of the Zhengde era during the Ming Dynasty (1510). It features a width of three bays, a depth of four rafters, a five-purlin structure without a corridor, and a flush-gable roof. In front of the hall, there are three stone stelae preserved. Taihe Village: Overview of Taihe Village: Located in a hilly mountainous area, it lies 32 kilometers southwest of Xinzhou City. Legend has it that Taihe Village once had a Shifang Temple, which shared the same name as the Shifang Temple in Taiyuan. There was a river in front of the Shifang Temple in Taiyuan called the Taihe River. A small river also ran in front of the temple here, and the monks followed its example by also naming it Taihe. The village was built beside the river and thus took the river’s name as its own. Currently, there are 104 households, 285 residents, 80 hectares of arable land, and the economy is primarily agricultural.
