Nangao Stage

The Nangao Stage is a cultural heritage site protected at the district level in Xinfu District.

The Nangao Stage is located in Nangao Village, Qicun Town, Xinfu District. It faces north and covers an area of 129 square meters. According to an inscription on the ridge beam, it was built in the third year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1864). The stage is three bays wide and four rafters deep, with a single-eave gable-and-hip roof, a four-rafter rear corridor structure, and traditional bracket sets. Inside, there are two columns on each side. On the stage floor, there are nine rows of bricks arranged in a radial pattern. On April 10, 1985, the former People’s Government of Xinzhou City (a county-level city) designated it as a municipal-level cultural heritage site. Nangao Village: Located in Qicun Town, Xinfu District, Xinzhou, Nangao Village lies to the east of Yinshan Mountain, west of the town center, north of Jinshan Lake, and south of Xinzhou City. The Xinning Highway runs past the south of the village, the Qidun Road stretches east-west through the area, and tourist routes lead directly to Luya Mountain. Its geographical location is excellent and transportation is very convenient. Nangao Village is situated approximately 22 kilometers northwest of Xinzhou City in Xinfu District, at the foot of the Gold and Silver Mountains. With a large population, the village spans a land area of 7,076 mu and has 1,098 households. It is home to the world-renowned “Qicun Hot Springs” and is known as a village of wrestling, being part of the region famed for this traditional sport.
