Dongzhang Hongfu Temple

Dongzhang Hongfu Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Xinfu District.

Hongfu Temple is located in Dongzhang Village, Xizhang Township, Xinfu District. It faces south and covers an area of 8,025 square meters. Built in the fifth year of the Chenghua reign during the Ming Dynasty (1469) and renovated during the Qing Dynasty, only the Guanyin Hall remains today, which is a structure from the Qing period. The Guanyin Hall faces west and is situated eastward, with a width of three bays, a depth of four rafters, a hanging hip roof, and lattice doors and windows. On April 10, 1985, the then People's Government of Xinzhou City (a county-level city) designated it as a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit.

Dongzhang Village: Dongzhang Village is located in a semi-hilly area, 10 li south of the city. It borders Dananxian to the east at a distance of 5 li, Shuiyu to the south at 10 li, Xizhang to the west at 1 li, and Dongqu to the north at 5 li. The origin of the village name is the same as that of Xizhang. The village covers a total area of 6,343.1 mu, with 3,846 mu of arable land, a population of 1,377, and 497 households, with an average per capita income of 5,577 yuan. It operates as an independent village administrative unit. In September 1984, the Production Brigade Management Committee was restructured into a Villagers' Committee. The main industries are agriculture and dried tofu processing.
