Xinzhou Guan Yu Temple

Xinzhou Guan Yu Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinzhou City.

The urban Guan Yu Temple is located at No. 4, Guan Yu Temple Lane, Nanjie Village, Nancheng Subdistrict, Xinfu District. It faces south with a north orientation, stretching 75 meters from east to west and 30 meters from north to south. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but the existing structures date back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Along the central axis, there is a stage, the mountain gate, and the Hall of Guan Yu, flanked by side halls on the east and west, as well as a bell tower and a drum tower. The Hall of Guan Yu is built on a brick foundation, with a width of five bays, a depth of six rafters, a single-eave hanging gable roof, and a seven-rafter front-and-rear corridor structure; the decorations are no longer present. The mountain gate, Hall of Guan Yu, side halls on the east and west, and the bell and drum towers are all Qing dynasty constructions. The stage has a stone foundation, with a width of three bays and a depth of four bays, a single-eave roof featuring a front rolled-awning and rear hanging gable style, with bracket sets, and side rooms; it is a Ming dynasty building. In 2006 and 2007, repairs were carried out on the Hall of Guan Yu, the mountain gate, and the side halls. On the pathway between the mountain gate and the transitional hall, there is a stone sutra pillar, 1.4 meters high and 0.35 meters in diameter, octagonal in shape, heavily weathered with illegible inscriptions. On June 6, 2007, the Xinzhou Municipal People's Government designated it as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit.

Nanjie Village: Lujiazhuang Village, located on Changzheng West Road, borders Kuangcun to the east, Jiulonggang to the south, Dayun Road to the west, and Xinzhou-Jinzhong and Heping, two major east-west roads, to the north. The village is home to 2,827 households and 8,481 residents. It currently has 800 mu of land, mainly growing corn with an annual yield of 350 tons. The local economy primarily revolves around construction, construction-related production, as well as transportation and service industries.
