Tomb of Jiang Tao

The Tomb of Jiang Tao is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinzhou City.

The Tomb of Jiang Tao is situated approximately 500 meters northwest of Jiecun Village, Caozhang Township, Xinfu District. It faces south with its back to the north, covering an area 250 meters in length from north to south and 190 meters from east to west, and dates back to the Ming Dynasty. The tomb's occupant, Jiang Tao, styled Boyuan, was a native of Jiecun Village in Xinfu District. He was born in the 25th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1392) and passed away in the 15th year of the Zhengtong reign (1445). He served as Vice Magistrate of Jiaxing Prefecture in Zhejiang, Vice Magistrate of Hejian Prefecture in Zhili, Prefect of Hejian Prefecture, Prefect of Shuntian Prefecture, and eventually rose to the position of Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue. Over his more than twenty years in office, Jiang Tao exemplified the ideals of public service—bringing benefits to the region he governed, maintaining integrity and uprightness, and living in austere poverty. He earned deep respect from the imperial court, admiration from his colleagues, and the support of the people. He stands not only as a model of Ming Dynasty officials but also as a mirror reflecting the standards to which today’s political arena should aspire—an honor truly well-deserved.

On June 6, 2007, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Xinzhou City.

Caozhang Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Xinzhou City. In 1958, it was part of Weixing Commune; in 1961, Caozhang Commune was established; and in 1984, it was reorganized as a township. Located in the northeastern part of the city, it is about 20 kilometers from downtown. Covering an area of 72.5 square kilometers, it has a population of 19,000. All villages are connected by simple roads. The township administers 11 village committees: Beicaozhang, Nancaozhang, Zhongcaozhang, Beilantai, Jiecun, Gucun, Xiaozhicun, Linghuzhuang, Daijun, Gaocun, and Fuhuzhuang.
