The Memorial Hall of the Former Site of the Headquarters of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Command is located in Jinguanku Village, Wutai County, Shanxi Province. It was established on November 7, 2003, on the basis of the original site of the military command headquarters. The courtyard of the former site faces east and is located close to the foot of the mountain, occupying a strategically important position. The entire structure consists of two courtyards, inner and outer, which are similar in size. The memorial hall currently has 21 exhibition rooms and four display halls. It features the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties in northern China. The exhibition content is divided into three main parts: “The Iron-Walled Great Wall” — an exhibition on the resistance history of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Command during the War of Resistance Against Japan. With the occurrence and development of the war as the main thread, it displays 142 photographs vividly recreating the heroic spirit and unyielding struggle of the military and civilians in the Jin-Cha-Ji base area. “A Marshal for All Eternity” — an exhibition on Marshal Nie Rongzhen’s life. A total of 90 photographs and 14 artifacts are displayed, providing a detailed account of the glorious life of Marshal Nie.

In late October 1937, the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army left the Wutai Mountain area and headed for the Taihang Mountains. In November, the founding conference of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Command was held in Shizu Town, Wutai County. In February 1938, the military command headquarters moved to Jinguanku. In the autumn of the same year, the military command headquarters withdrew from Jinguanku. The command headquarters was stationed here for about half a year.

The former site is located southwest of Jinguanku Village, facing east and situated at the foot of the mountain. The entire courtyard covers an area of 720 square meters and consists of 30 brick-and-tile houses. It is divided into inner and outer courtyards, which are similar in size. On the north side of the west room in the inner courtyard, there is a lower level with a brick-arched cave dwelling and an upper level constructed of wood. The upper level has three bays, with a width of 7.8 meters and a depth of 6.2 meters, where Commander Nie Rongzhen once lived.

On October 7, 2019, the Former Site of the Headquarters of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Command was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Jinguanku Village is one of the towns and townships within the Wutai Mountain Scenic Area. Located beside the Changyuan Highway, it currently has 320 agricultural households with a population of 720, including 57 Party members. The village has over 650 acres of arable land, with an average income of 2,160 yuan per person. The main sources of income are traditional agriculture and migrant work. With the construction of the Wutai Mountain Tourism Service Base in the township, tourism and service industries will become the dominant sectors in Jinguanku Village.
