Monument to Martyr Zhang Yinyuan

The Monument to Martyr Zhang Yinyuan is located about 15 meters to the right of the main gate of Gengzhen Middle School in Gengzhen Village, Gengzhen Town, Wutai County. The monument stands 1.26 meters tall, 0.63 meters wide, and 0.16 meters thick, covering an area of 0.33 square meters. Its top is round and made of stone. The inscription on the monument reads: “Eternal rest to Comrade Wenyuan”, “During the Anti-Japanese War in 1942, Comrade Zhang Wenyuan was unfortunately killed by the enemy while carrying out a mission to control the foe. Upon hearing the news, all the villagers from our village and Wuchuangou were filled with deep sorrow and erected this monument in his memory. Erected in September 1951.”
