The former residence of Li Lian is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Li Lian is located at No. 10, San Nan Alley, Huaixin Village, Dongye Town, Wutai County. Li Lian, whose original name was Zhao Zibin and also known as Liangsheng, was a native of Huaixin Village and was born in 1920. He once served as a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the CPC,

and in 1987, he was appointed as the Secretary-General of the Central Advisory Commission of the CPC. The residence faces south and has a one-entry, two-courtyard layout, covering an area of 720 square meters. It features a brick-arched main gate and a stone-arched gate tunnel, with a plaque inscribed with the characters “树德” (meaning “Cultivate Virtue”). The screen wall is adorned with brick carvings, and there is a stone lion placed at the front for warding off evil spirits. The rear courtyard’s northern house was relocated and rebuilt into a two-story building in 1990. The east and west wing rooms each have a width of three bays and a depth of four rafters, featuring a rolled shed and flush gable roof, though their doors and windows have been modified. The second gate is designed in a front-hall-and-rear-ceremonial-gate style: the front hall is one bay wide and one bay deep, with a hip-and-gable roof, and its bracket sets are larger than usual, supporting a complex set of bracket arms. Li Lian (1920– ). A native of Wutai, Shanxi. Joined the Communist Party in 1935. The following year, he participated in the Chinese National Liberation Vanguard. In 1937, he joined the Sacrifice League. He served as the Minister of Propaganda of the Wutai County Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Yushe County Committee, Head of the Enemy Work Department of the Jizhong 2nd Sub-bureau Committee, Head of the Organization Department of the Jizhao 2nd Sub-bureau Committee, and Deputy Secretary of the Liangyun Sub-bureau Committee. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Ankang Sub-bureau Committee and Director of a Division at the Central Organization Department. Huaixin Village: Huaixin Village is backed by Longshan Mountain and faces the Hutuo River and Xiaohuanghe River, where the two rivers converge, creating uniquely beautiful scenery.
