Gounan Catholic Church

Gounan Catholic Church is located in Gounan Village, Gounan Township, Wutai County. It faces west and covers an area of 213 square meters. The structure is five bays wide and six rafters deep, with a flush-gable, flush-eaves roof. To the west of the church are three schoolhouse rooms, four rafters deep, also featuring a flush-gable, flush-eaves roof. The original construction date of the building is unclear, but it has served as a Catholic church since the second year of the Republic of China (1913). After 1949, it was repurposed as a grain storage facility for the county grain bureau, and was returned to the Catholic Church in the 1980s.
