Xijian'an Futian Temple is located in the center of Xijian'an Village, Jian'an Township, Wutai County. The exact date of its establishment is unknown. It was rebuilt during the ninth year of the Huangtong era of the Jin Dynasty (1149), the sixth year of the Xuande era of the Ming Dynasty (1434), the first year of the Hongzhi era (1488), the second year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1737), and the seventeenth year of the Guangxu era (1891).

It was reconstructed in 2004. The temple faces south and covers an area of 78 square meters. The existing main hall dates back to the sixth year of the Xuande era of the Ming Dynasty. It is three bays wide and four rafters deep, with a single-eave hanging gable roof. During the 2004 renovation, the roof was replaced with yellow glazed tiles. The bracket sets and other components are well-preserved, though some architectural details have been altered. The hall features painted beams and carved rafters, with murals depicting Buddhist themes on the interior walls. Xijian'an Village in Jian'an Township is located south of the Hutuo River. The village covers a total area of 1.56 square kilometers, with 970 mu of arable land, all of which is irrigated. The total population is 1,267. Tan Shang Village has a warm temperate continental climate, characterized by dry conditions and little rainfall throughout the year. The main sources of income for local farmers are corn and rice cultivation, mining, and migrant work.
