Liuduan An

Liuduan An is a cultural relic protection unit of Wutai County.

Liuduan An, located within Gounan School in Gounan Village, Gounan Township, Wutai County. The exact founding date is unknown, but the existing structures date back to the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and features a traditional quadrangle courtyard layout, covering an area of 267 square meters. There is a small side gate.

The main hall is three bays wide and six rafters deep, with a front porch, a suspended gable roof covered with gray tiles, and a central door flanked by windows on either side. The bracket sets are rather large and feature carved floral motifs. The central bay houses a plaque inscribed with the characters “Qiang Jiu Rong” (meaning “Everlasting Fragrance”). The roof beams are supported by carved brackets, and the wooden columns are about one meter high. The secondary bay is adorned with decorative patterns.
