Guandu Dian Village Guan Yu Temple

Guandu Dian Village Guan Yu Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Wutai County.

Guandu Dian Village Guan Yu Temple is located in Guandu Dian Village, Chenjiazhuang Township, Wutai County. It faces south and covers an area of 325 square meters. The Guan Yu Hall is three bays wide, four rafters deep, with a front porch and a flush gable roof. The stone platform has nine steps.

The carved brackets are adorned with floral carvings extending from the large bracket arms on both sides, central partition doors, and windows in the side bays. The hall contains 59 square meters of mural paintings depicting the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, created in the 23rd year of the Guangxu reign (1897) during the Qing Dynasty. There is also one stone stele dated “12th year of the Yongzheng reign (1734)” and one stone tablet dated “23rd year of the Guangxu reign (1897).” In front of the hall stands a large locust tree with a diameter of 1.6 meters. Opposite the Guan Yu Hall is a stage, which is three bays wide, four rafters deep, with a rolled shed and flush gable roof. Originally, all three bays on the front were enclosed with partition doors. It is relatively well-preserved. In July 1987, the People’s Government of Wutai County designated it as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
