Wreath Site

The Wreath Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Wreath Site is located on a platform west of the Xiaohe River on the Wreath Land, approximately 1,000 meters west of Beidaxingyi Village, Dongye Town, Wutai County. It covers an area of about 60,000 square meters. Surface collections include gray clay pottery shards with decorative patterns such as cord marks, basket weave patterns, and appliqué ridges. The site belongs to the Baiyan type of the Longshan Culture from the Neolithic Age. In July 1987, the People's Government of Wutai Mountain announced it as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. (Content excerpted from "Xinzhou Cultural Relics Collection")

Dongye Town: Legend has it that Dongye Town was an ancient site for smelting copper and iron, hence its name. The town is situated on the north bank of the Hutuo River and the east bank of the Xiaohe River, bordering Huaiyin Village to the west and connecting closely with Wuji Village to the east. It faces Jian'an Township across the river and covers an area of 5 square kilometers. The town is divided into four streets—East, West, South, and North—and governs 21 villages with a total population of 38,755, including over 3,000 non-agricultural residents and more than 42,400 mu of arable land. As the gateway to the county, Dongye has long served as a transportation hub and is the largest town in the county, functioning as a distribution center for goods with a thriving trade.
