The ruins of Diantou Wenshu Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

The ruins of Diantou Wenshu Temple are located on the northern side of Diantou Village, Yangbai Township, Wutai County. The exact founding date of Wenshu Temple is unknown. It was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty but was destroyed in the 1950s. Some of the temple’s Buddha statues were preserved by lay Buddhists, who later moved them into an old earthen kiln on the ruins of the Wenshu Hall.

Five wooden sculptures remain: Wenshu with an exposed chest, adorned with a necklace of jewels, hands forming a mudra, the left hand damaged, seated cross-legged on an upturned lotus base, with a remaining height of 0.8 meters. There are also five wooden attendant sculptures. Statue No. 1 wears a cylindrical hat, a round-necked robe, sits with legs hanging down, the right hand damaged, with a remaining height of 0.9 meters. Statue No. 2 wears a high-necked robe, legs hanging, hands folded inside sleeves and resting on the abdomen, head damaged, remaining height 0.8 meters. Statue No. 3 is similar to No. 2, also wearing a high-necked robe, legs hanging, hands folded inside sleeves and resting on the abdomen, head damaged, remaining height 0.8 meters. Statue No. 4 only shows the outline of the head, the rest is damaged, one eye open, remaining height 0.8 meters. Statue No. 5 has a damaged head, stands as an attendant, wears a high-necked robe, the rest is damaged, remaining height 0.70 meters. Additionally, there are other clay sculpted heads, details unknown. At the site, there is one stone stele inscribed with “Record of the Reconstruction of Wenshu Temple, the 13th Year of Zhengde, the Year of Wu-Yin (1518), Great Ming.” The site covers an area of approximately 750 square meters.
