Qing Shi Temple

Qing Shi Temple, originally named Shi Jiao Temple, is located about one li north of Zhaimenzhi Village in Shangshe Town, Yu County. It was first built in the 17th year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty (1544 AD), and was relocated in the 22nd year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1842 AD) to a large bluestone on the north side of the village—hence its current name. The temple currently houses a main hall with three rooms, one room each on the left and right side halls, and three rooms each on the east and west meditation rooms. The main hall is centrally located, measuring 12 meters in width, 8 meters in depth, and 5 meters in eave height, featuring a single-eave hip-and-gable roof structure. The three inner walls of the hall are covered with colorful murals, most notably those from the Qing Dynasty. The painted figures vary in size and posture. The colored clay statues of deities are also exquisitely crafted, arranged on a large Buddhist altar that is 3 meters long and 1.68 meters wide.
