South Lake Yingzhou Pavilion

South Lake Yingzhou Pavilion is located within South Lake Park. Covering an area of 410,000 square meters, the lake itself spans 320,000 square meters with an average depth of 1.5 meters. In the 29th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1690), Wang Laigui, then magistrate of Aimi Prefecture who was also acting as the magistrate of Mengzi County, funded the dredging of Qingguo Spring, channeled water into the lake, and built the northern embankment. In gratitude, the local people built a pavilion on the eastern side of the lake, naming it Yingxian Pavilion. It was renovated in the 14th year of the Guangxu reign (1888) and renamed Yingzhou Pavilion.

The pavilion stands 22.4 meters tall and is a wooden structure featuring a three-tiered, hexagonal hip-and-gable roof. It is supported by 30 pillars, including six through-pillars that form a dougong-style framework. With its overlapping brackets, glazed colored tiles, and exquisite decorations, the pavilion rises gracefully amid the blue waters and green trees. It was designated as a Yunnan Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 1987.
