Tomb of Deng Xuexian

The Tomb of Deng Xuexian is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Tomb of Deng Xuexian is located on Renjiapo, 1 kilometer south of Xin’anzuo Town, Mengzi County. It is a circular burial mound enclosed by stone, standing 1 meter high and 3 meters in diameter. The memorial arch-style tombstone is 1.08 meters tall and 85 centimeters wide.

Deng Xuexian (1801–1831), styled Dianyu and also known by his literary name Hongqiao, was a successful candidate in the imperial examinations at the provincial level (Juren) in the second year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1822). Hongqiao excelled in poetry and prose, and his collection Poems from the Book House of Embracing Virtue was included in the Yunnan Series. Later generations compiled a supplementary volume titled Supplement to the Collected Poems of Hongqiao.
