Bowl Rack Cliff Cliff Carvings Bowl Rack Cliff Cliff Carvings are located on the right side of Bailong Mountain in Heba Township, west of Qiancheng, approximately 60 kilometers from Qiancheng. Within the rugged cliffs lies a rock niche, about 1 kilometer long and 1–8 meters wide, capable of accommodating over 500 people. Ascending from the banks of the Xiaojiang River, it is divided into sections such as “Big Checkpoint,” “Middle Checkpoint,” “Ox Checkpoint,” and “Shijia Checkpoint.” The cliff face features layered strata with alternating black-and-white vertical lines. Starting from the vermilion inscription “Simen Pass,” more than 40 inscriptions have been discovered on the rock wall to date. The earliest one is titled “When people gather in the cave, they turn to blood; when the stone walls are damaged, all barbarians perish,” erected in December of the second year of the Yuanshun era during the Yuan Dynasty. Another reads, “Yang Yinglong, the Pacification Commissioner of Bozhou, rebelled; the imperial court raised troops to suppress him. Taking refuge here amidst the chaos, I inscribed this about the ancient site of White Dragon: (poem omitted).” About 80 meters below the Middle Checkpoint, there is a humorous poem carved into the cliff: “Guizhou is born all slopes, the world is made of mountains and rivers. Your eyes (gaze) but cannot see the Yellow River, a thousand layers of stones and ten thousand layers of slopes. Eighty-year-old grandpas plow the fields, three-year-old kids also climb the slopes. Neither Confucius nor Mencius’ scriptures are known, only the songs of birds in the hills are sung.”
